For its first expedition, the INCROYABLE will welcome onboard researchers working on issues related to Human Migrations across the Mediterranean Sea. 

 

This research program, looking to raise awareness of the relevance of Humanities and Social Sciences in the study of Human Migrations, comes from a simple fact: the very first interaction between the Sea and Humankind took the form of a confrontation: the Sea appears as a hurdle to overcome. This form of interaction between Humankind and the Sea continues to this day. 

 

The humanitarian tragedy unfolding before our eyes in the Mediterranean Sea challenges the entire community of researchers based all around the Mediterranean basin. Such tragedy implies a need to urgently mobilize multidisciplinary analyses as well as new research tools as a way to amplify the exchange of knowledge.
